Marlbank ASSI Open Day with the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA)

Talks and activities range from Conservation Grazing, Limestone Grassland Discussion to Environmental Arts & Crafts. The Local Biodiversity Officer will also assist with talks and walks on the Butterfly Transect at the Nature Reserve as well as introductory sessions on moths.

Killykeeghan & Crossmurrin Nature Reserve and Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark, Marlbank Scenic Loop, Florencecourt.

NIEA are organising a Celebration Day for the Marlbank Area of Special Scientific Interest (ASSI). The event promises to have something for everyone with talks, walks and activities being held at the Marble Arch Caves and the Nature Reserve simultaneously. For example, three species of butterfly have been highlighted in the Local Biodiversity Action Plan (LBAP), two of which can be found on the Nature Reserve. The LBAP Officer will be on hand to give an introduction to butterflies and moths and there will also be opportunities to walk the Butterfly Transect route which was established in 2010 to systematically record species across the site.

 

 

 

Fermanagh Enterprise Ltd is running a FREE training programme for all persons over 16 years who are unemployed or working part-time. Community Group Management (2 x evenings)

 

The course should help community groups learn to operate more effectively. The course should provide an introduction to management committee skills and to raise the confidence of those involved in such committees. It should also explore the roles of management committee members and office bearers and the skills required to perform these roles and guide participants in the basics of running meetings, planning projects and planning projects.

Time: 7:30pm – 10:00pm

Conflict Management (2 x evenings)

 

The course should enable Community Groups to manage conflict more effectively and in turn strengthen relationships and provide an increased willingness and confidence to work co-operatively.
